“The Blanton Museum Renovation Project was a very demanding job that could not be successful without a construction team with the highest level of professionalism, skillful personnel, and excellent communication strategy. Based on my experience with White Construction, I would not hesitate to recommend them on any project that needs a trusted construction partner.”
– Sergy Belov, Project Manager, The University of Texas

The Blanton Museum at The University of Texas at Austin, one of the largest university art museums in the U.S. and Austin’s premier art collection, was founded in 1963. It occupies multiple buildings on campus, with its permanent home established in the Smith and Michener Gallery buildings in 2006.

This project reimagines the museum’s entry sequence, enhancing the connection between the two buildings with a pedestrian-friendly design. The courtyard now features the Faulkner Garden, 12 art sculpture installations, walkways, and a 100-foot plaster mosaic wall.

During preconstruction, White Construction introduced cost-saving strategies to address a $4.9 million budget shortfall. A $3.9 million donation later restored many planned enhancements. Despite numerous changes, the project was managed to avoid delays, keep museum operations running, and minimize campus disruption.
